WHEN God created the Earth he fumbled in his pockets and found a handful of dust particles. He overthrew the pockets, rubbed his fingertips, the dust fell and he made Norway, seas and mountains, islands and fjords. Nowhere in the world is so beautiful and so civil….Oil everywhere coincides with tyranny and obscurantism (with a few exceptions, Ghana, perhaps). As the oil runs out, the Norwegians have made it a resource to be allocated largely for generations to come, and have selected their economic partners in a way to exclude dictators, human rights violators and corruption.
