Janne-Camilla Lyster: Love, polyphonic

Love, polyphonic is a choreographic project extending over three years.

The project employs the term “love” as a thematic anchor point – and it is polyphonic; in shape, in content, in structure, and towards several time horizons.

Each of the three years begins with a development phase called “The performance of process”. In this phase, Lyster works in the studio for four months, sometimes in the company of guest artists. The theme “love” is explored as a principle through three main approaches: transformation (2021), gestures (2022) and anatomically embedded time (2023). This exploration gives the basis for the further work on the project. By sharing images, video, texts and drawings during the process, Lyster seeks to investigate what reflections and insights arise in the glitches between the visible and the emergent in a process.

“The performance of process” will be shared through the Instagram account love_polyphonic and on Black Box teater’s website in four phases during Spring 2021:

  • March 3rd
  • March 30th
  • May 7th
  • June 17th
