"Opening Night investigates different times, approaches, historical traditions, ways of understanding, seeing and thinking about the art of acting and theater. It seeks to show us the art of theater, but also its inadequacy. The actor always returns, like a junkie he does not let go the feeling the theater has drilled into his body, he will always return, dig deeper, into, down into the matter, forward, up, further on stage, in the rehearsal rooms, in the room with the others. Opening Night is both festive and sad , light and heavy, it thinks as much as it does, thinks further, and thinks with us, thinks of the pandemic, thinks what is the theater able to, what is the art of acting in 2021, how should this body continue to drill through layers to approach the flame, the beating flesh.”
