Oslo Internasjonale Teaterfestival Takes a Break in 2026

After many years as a key meeting place for international and Norwegian contemporary performing arts, Oslo Internasjonale Teaterfestival (OITF) will take a break in 2026. The festival will return stronger – with renewed energy, new artistic collaborations, and experiences that will bring together audiences, artists, and professionals across borders.

The pause allows for necessary restructuring and planning following a period of renovation and change at Black Box teater. This work affects parts of the festival’s preparations, making it natural to take a break in 2026. At the same time, it offers an opportunity to rethink the festival’s format and content for the future.
